Raccoons shutout Lakeview Centennial 2-0 on Thursday.  Scoring our first goal was Rudolfo Rodriguez with an assist by Kofi Halliday.  The second goal was by Dylan Sammarco assisted by Tyler Radcliffe.

On Friday the Raccoons beat McKinney Boyd  2-1 at the Broncos’ Home Field. The defense played tough after giving up a first half goal and the game ended 1-1.  Scoring FHS’s goal was Kofi Halliday on a corner kick assist from Mo Matehuala.  In the shootout,  Mitch Kilmer was brilliant in the goal as he shutout Boyd on 4 attempts – scoring dribble up shots for the Raccoons were Tyler and Mo.

The two wins advanced the Raccoons to the Toyota Cup Final game against the Hebron Hawks.  After playing in a rain drenched scoreless draw the Raccoons again went to a shootout.  Unfortunately the boys came up one goal short of the Championship Trophy and came home with the Finalist Trophy. Mo and Dylan Sammarco had dribble up scores for the Raccoons.  Though disappointed with the final outcome the team continued its excellent team play as they gave up only 1 regulation goal in their 3 games.

The Lady Raccoons  started strong on Thursday with a 6-0 win again Ft. Worth Eastern Hills.  The scoring was started by Bethany Cornille’s first goal of her Varsity career, and was followed by goals by Katie O'Malley (2), Taylor Graves, Celine Fletcher’s first Varsity goal, and Casey Colbert.  Earning assists were Kristina, Katie, and Amy Franklin.  The Lady Raccoon Defense did not allow any shots on goal and made life easy for goalies Kayla Wilkinson and Jordan Little.

On Friday the Lady Raccoons came up short against their arch rival McKinney Lions losing 3-0.

On Saturday, team came out strong as they won 5-0 against Tyler Chapel Hill for the 3rd place among the  8-team field.  Raccoon Boys Win Share of Championship at the Denton Iron Bridge Classic Tournament -  Raccoons shutout Little Elm 2-0 Saturday evening.  After winning their bracket with 3 wins the boys were scheduled to play Newman-Smith in the championship game.  But because the Trojans are a District foe and the teams will play twice in the coming weeks, the Raccoons were pitted against Little Elm.  After a scoreless first half,  Raccoon Tri-Captains, Mo Matehuala and Tyler Radcliffe teamed up in the 50th minute to score, as Mo received a great feed from Tyler.  In the 63rd minute, Luis Almeida was fouled in the penalty box, and Mo’s PK scored the Raccoon’s second and insurance goal.  Mitch Kilmer had another great game in the goal.  The defensive line led by the Raccoon’s third captain, Eric Johnson, plus Matt Carroll, Austin Allen, Sebastian (Sebass) Piras and Kevin Campos teamed together to shut down all of the Lobos threats.
